AbjadNLP 2027 · Shared task
Authorship style transfer for Urdu literature
Generate text in a target author's literary style while preserving the meaning of the original passage. The proposed 2027 edition focuses on Urdu; additional languages have not been confirmed.
Illustrative Urdu text, not a dataset sample.
2027 scope: Urdu. Arabic and other Arabic-script languages are not currently confirmed.
About the shared task
AbjadStyleTransfer explores literary authorship style transfer. Given an input passage and a target author, participating systems generate a rewritten passage that reflects the target author's stylistic characteristics while retaining the source meaning.
A passage, typically in a neutral or formal style, together with the identity or style of a target literary author.
A generated Urdu passage that captures the target author's writing style without materially changing the original content.
Capture distinctive literary voice, lexical preferences and expression rather than merely paraphrasing the input.
Balance stylistic transformation with semantic faithfulness and natural, fluent Urdu.
The earlier edition drew on literary works such as novels and essays and described BLEU and chrF as evaluation measures. The 2027 dataset, permitted source material, licensing, metrics and scoring protocol remain to be confirmed by the organisers.
